Cove - Milan Design Week 2019

We worked in collaboration with Benjamin Hubert of experience design agency Layer to design Cove, an installation in Milan as part of the world’s foremost design event, Salone del Mobile. The installation showcased our Axyl collection and included a preview of the latest addition, the Axyl Bench.

Cove was inspired by a photography studio’s backdrops and the Hall of Mirrors at Palazzo Litta was transformed into a light and reflective space for visitors during the busy design week.

Palazzo Litta is one of Milan’s most impressive examples of Baroque architecture and dates from the 18th century. Today, it is one of the city’s leading cultural destinations. The minimalist exhibition structure was designed to contrast with, and frame the highly ornate setting.

A lightweight steel framework was assembled in the space, draped with Kvadrat textiles in a palette of soft, complementary pastels and a system of modular magnetic lights illuminated various Axyl scenes.
