Central House
SEE IT STYLED — A PRODUCT SHOWCASE
Manchester-based designers SpaceInvader have recently completed a major three-year project to reinvigorate the public and common areas of Central House, Harrogate. The scheme has a focus on quality, simplicity and features a pared-back look with a clean, elegant and unobstructive feel.
The four-storey building provides local companies with 168,000 sq ft of office space, car parking and associated facilities for property group client CEG.

When SpaceInvader was first instructed, this popular building was already fully occupied. This meant that the refurbishment scheme wasn’t primarily about attracting new tenants, but about unlocking the potential of the interior, creating new places for people to dwell and appreciate the building, as well as future-proofing by time-sensitive investment.
SpaceInvader’s remit was the complete modernisation of the building’s core and common areas, encompassing the ground floor reception area, featuring a café and breakout spaces. The café is open to all and has 40 covers.
"Allermuir often have a place in our projects due to their high quality, design-focused product portfolio and their listening approach. Their versatility also means we use them for both commercial and hospitality projects, which is particularly applicable to the Central House scheme, where the Folk chair and Axyl bench were a perfect match for hospitality ambience within an overall workplace environment."
